About Us

Greenhouse Trauma Therapy is a small therapy practice, founded by Camille Hankins in the Fall of 2020. I chose this name to reflect a little bit about how I see the therapeutic process. I was inspired by this quote from Thich Nhat Hanh:

"In the garbage, I see a rose.

In the rose, I see the garbage.

Everything is in transformation.

Even permanence is impermanent"

We see the process of healing from trauma as lovingly spending time processing pain, with the hope that it can be transformed into power to grow. Fear, depression, anxiety and grief all can be transformed into meaning, joy, confidence and fulfillment. The gardener has the power to nurture this transformation-- that's YOU. Sometimes this process happens independently, and other times the gardener needs tools and a safe space to do this vital work. This is where the greenhouse comes in, and what we want to provide for you as your therapists-- a safe place to do some of your life's work of transformation and some tools to use when you are stuck.
